Happy birthday hip hop! was a celebration of culture and music through the lens of hampton roads. Along with celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop and its global influence at assembly in downtown norfolk august 11th, 2023, this community event aimed to shed light on the history of hampton roads hip hop, look into the future of the genre, and celebrate our hometown musical heroes.
